You look at when we built the American middle class, it came out of the American labor movement. People who struggled to form unions, to engage in collective bargaining, to make sure that workers in this country received decent wages and decent benefits. The 40-hour workweek, overtime pay, a minimum wage, weekends like this one. All that didn’t happen by accident. It happened because America’s workers organized for it. We honor the men and women who have built every bridge in our country’s history. The laboring-man is an indispensable force in the American system. A free, active, progressive trade union movement stands for a free, active, progressive country On this day, this American holiday, we are celebrating the rights of free laboring men and women. We’re building a national movement for a better life. Hillary’s worked her entire life to level the playing field for working families. Hillary Clinton believes in keeping families together, she believes in our dreamers. We cannot rebuild America unless we treat America’s workers with respect. Respect the worker’s right to unionize as the only way to stop abuses in the workplace. Economic justice is inextricably linked to winning racial justice, environmental justice, and immigrant justice. Collective bargaining rights don’t just improve the lives of union members, they strengthen all of us.
