DeSales University Act 1 Presents : Picnic by William Inge

DeSales University Act 1 Presents : Picnic by William Inge

I think we plan these picnics just to give
ourselves an excuse to let something thrilling and romantic happen to us. Our first production of our season will be
Picnic by William Inge and it takes place in a small town in Kansas where there's two
households that share a yard and it's about what happens when a young man comes to town
and throws the women of the play for a loop and it disrupts their daily lives. Is there something you want young man? Just loafing, ma'am. It's such a beautiful play. William Inge is such a great writer and the
language is so beautiful. And even though it takes place in the 1950s,
there's such universal themes that I think audiences will relate to. Oh honey, you know I'm no good at dancing. That's just what you men folks tell yourselves
to get out of it. So come out and see Picnic by William Inge. It will make and break your heart and it's
a delight to see.
