NATALIE: FROM MOVING THE HOSELINES THROUGH THE 4-STORY TRAINING FACILITY. TO A MOCK SCENERIO OF A FIRE FIGHTER NEEDING TO BE RESCUED, — RESCUED.>>MAY DAY IS THE LAST THING THAT ANY FIRE FIGHTER WANTS TO HEAR ON A FIRE GROUND. THAT MEANS THERE’S A FIREFIGHTER INSIDE A HOUSE OR STRUCTURE FIRE IN A HAZARDOUS ENVIRONMENT THAT’S HURT, INJURED OR LOST THEIR WAY AND CAN’T FIND THEIR WAY OUT ON THEIR OWN AND THAT MEANS THAT WE NEED TO DO WHAT WE CAN TO GET THAT FIREFIGHTER OUT OF THAT STRUCTURE. NATALIE: THE RECRUITS WILL LEARN HOW TO GET THE FIRE FIGHTER OUT SAFELY AND EFFICIENTLY DURING THE ALL-DAY TRAINING BEGINNING THIS YEAR, THERE WILL BE NEW WAYS TO MANAGE A MAYDAY CALL. IT WILL HAPPEN FROM THE INSIDE OUT.>>THE CREWS WORKING CLOSELY WITH THE MAYDAY FIRE FIGHTER WILL BE ABLE TO BE THE FIRST ONES TO RESPOND. IT ALLOWS US TO BE MORE EFFICIENT WITH WHAT WE DO. NATALIE: A STRESSFUL TRAINING, HAWK SAYS, THAT COULD ONE DAY BE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LIFE AND DEATH.
