School View #129: Woodside Holiday Arts Happening

There is only one magical night each year,
when all 10 magnet programs at Woodside High School bring their talents together for a
season of musical splendor. The Center for Arts and Communication hosted
their annual Holiday Arts Happening, for a winter showcase of combined artistic talents. The festivities started in the cafeteria,
with a preshow performance from Woodside’s chorus. While their heavenly voices lifted spirits,
visual art students helped guests create their own custom art projects to take home. In the auditorium, the lights dimmed for a
series of musical performances by the orchestra, jazz band, guitar orchestra, and piano. Each selection highlighted the combined and
individual talents of Woodside’s musicians. On stage, dance and theatre students offered
movement and humor with their unique skills. Communication students produced a holiday
music video, while creative writing students brought the written word to life. With over 300 of Woodside’s Magnet students
involved in performances, the creation of visual art displays, and behind the scenes
technical support, the Holiday Arts Happening was a combined effort of epic proportions.
